The National FRC Suicide Prevention Code of Practice has been developed to give FRC staff and volunteers clear guidance on identifying warning signs and supporting people who are having thoughts of suicide. By participating in this training, you will learn to: Recognise the warning signs. Respond to the situation. Signpost a person to additional services. Create and implement a self-care plan in the aftermath of an incident What you will gain: The confidence, skill and understanding to converse with a person who are having thoughts of suicide The ability to use tools and resources to support a person with suicide ideation. The strength to support people who are having thoughts of suicide, their family, friends, colleagues, and community. The ability to manage your own mental and emotional wellbeing and cope with a crisis. PLEASE NOTE: If someone you know has died by suicide in the last 12 months, it is recommended that you do not take part in the Suicide Prevention - COP training for at least a year after the tragedy as you may find some parts of this training to be distressing and overwhelming.
