Mark Lucey is one of our highly regarded and valued Health and Wellbeing Community Referral Team. Mark is currently based in the Ballincollig Family Resource Centre, Mid-West Cork. The Ballincollig FRC catchment area starts in Bishopstown and extends out as far as the Cork border to Ballyvourney, incorporating Ballincollig and Macroom.
Mark has always had a passion for supporting others to achieve their ambitions, and his career spans youth work, inclusive education and training, and community development.

Read what Mark has to say:"Community Referral is a new way for an old idea, that people are happier and healthier when they are connected to their community. My approach to social prescribing is a person-centred one led completely by the person I am supporting. I think it is extremely important to accept the service user where they are now and not push what I think they should be doing. I like to empower them to get to where they would like to be at a pace that is right for them. The best part of my job is hearing back from service users about the little changes they made which has made a big difference and improved their health and wellbeing."
