About this service: This service is for anyone going through a difficult time. Volunteers answer over 1,000 calls a day from people who are lonely, feeling isolated, struggling to cope with work, family, and finances, and from those with mental health issues, including anyone feeling suicidal. The Samaritans are not only for the moment of crisis. We’re here, day or night, for anyone who needs someone to listen without judgment or pressure. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide. Samaritans believe suicide is preventable and work tirelessly to reach more people and make suicide prevention a priority.

About this service: PIETA provide a 24-Hour Crisis Helpline & Text Support Services.
The Pieta Crisis Helpline offers crisis intervention support to anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts, engaging in self-harm, or those bereaved through suicide whilst also providing support and information for those supporting loved ones in crisis.

About this service: Aware provides a range of support, education and information services nationwide. Support and information services are available for adults experiencing depression or bipolar disorder and for those who are concerned for someone who is impacted. About this service: Belong To LGBTQ+ Youth Ireland is the national organisation supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ+) young people in Ireland. Since 2003, Belong To has worked with LGBTQ+ young people between 14 and 23 years to create a world where they are equal, safe, and valued in the diversity of their identities and experiences. Belong To also advocates and campaigns on behalf of young LGBTQ+ people and offers a specialised LGBTQ+ youth service with a focus on mental and sexual health, alongside drug and alcohol support. Belong To respond to the needs of LGBTQ+ young people in Ireland and help them thrive. Groups are facilitated both online and in person, and some one-to-one sessions are available in person or online/via phone.

About this service: CARI also provides therapy to children up to 12 years of age who present with sexually harmful behaviour. CARI also provide information, support and counselling to non-abusing parents, carers and siblings.
CARI Helpline offers a confidential listening service. However, if they are provided with any identifying information pertaining to a child in danger or an alleged perpetrator they are required to notify the relevant authorities.
This policy is in line with Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children.

About this service: A National Traveller Mental Health Suicide Prevention Service provids two main mental health service:
1. Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Promotion: The promotion aspect of the service promotes and supports the development of initiatives which reduce the stigma associated with mental health and promote suicide prevention in a coordinated way.
2. Direct Mental Health Support: The direct mental health support service was developed with travellers for travellers experiencing mental health issues to support individualised recovery plans/programmes and uses a culturally appropriate model employing a community development approach.

About this service: First Fortnight is a charity that challenges mental health prejudice through arts and cultural action. Its team of IACAT-accredited creative therapists provides trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

About this service: Grow is a community of people drawn together by their first-hand experiences of mental health problems. About this service: HUGG is a national suicide bereavement charity. Its mission is to provide hope and healing to adults bereaved by suicide. HUGG Groups are located nationwide and are led by trained volunteers with lived experience of suicide bereavement. HUGG support groups meet every second Tuesday, 7:30–9:30 pm, in-person and online. HUGG facilitates Suicide Bereavement Support Groups (In-person and online) Self-referral. You can join a HUGG Group over the phone or by visiting the website and completing a ‘Join a Group’ form. About this service: Mental Health Ireland work with various partners in the statutory, community, voluntary, and corporate sectors in Ireland, Europe, and Internationally. Mental Health Ireland co-produces evidence-based mental health and recovery-promoting campaigns. About this service: Shine is a mental health organisation serving Ireland for over 40 years. About this service:. Eden is an educational programme with a therapeutic element for people who have attempted or contemplated suicide, running one morning a week for 26 weeks. The Wellness Workshop is a one-day workshop for the general public which breaks stigma and is filled with tips and tools anyone can use to monitor and manage their mental health. The Supporters’ Programme is for people supporting family members/ friends struggling with their mental health and for people working/ volunteering in roles where they are providing such support. WRAP supports participants in developing their own Wellness Action Plan. Suicide or Survive also has a range of online Wellness Workshops and resources.

About this service: Sure Steps is a Suicide Prevention Service that provides emotional/ psychological support to clients experiencing suicide ideation who are currently homeless or recently resettled. The service operates 365 days a year and incorporates an out-of-hours service Mon–Sun 4–10 pm. Counsellors provide individual support to anyone calling in crisis, as well as 1:1 counselling support. NOTE: Crisis, high risk or urgent referrals should always be contacted via the Freephone as referring by email entails processing and the allocation of counsellors, so the response is not as immediate as calling the Freephone.

About this service: Turn2Me works online to provide a free, safe, anonymous, and confidential space to anyone aged 12 plus in Ireland seeking mental health and wellbeing support. Turn2Me has a deep understanding of the needs and online behaviours of those who are seeking mental health support. The Turn2Me team is committed to delivering high-quality support and services at the right time for those who need understanding and help. Turn2Me’s innovative stepped-care psychosocial model of online mental health support means that people in Ireland can immediately access free professional one-to-one counselling, free group support, a free ‘Thought Catcher’ online mood diary, and free psychoeducation materials virtually from anywhere in Ireland.
Who is this service for? Adults and young people aged 12 and over.
Is there a fee? There is no fee for the initial six one-to-one counselling sessions. Thereafter, there is a €50 per session fee for long-term counselling.

About this service: This service works from a culturally inclusive framework which respects Traveller culture, identity, values and norms and works from a perspective of culture centred counselling and psychotherapy.
There are ten counsellors working in the following locations:
• The Parish of the Traveller People, Phibsborough
• Dublin City Centre
• Dochus Women’s Prison
• Bray
• Tallaght
• Fingal
• Clondalkin
• Tullamore in partnership with Offaly Traveller Movement
• Working in partnership with the Clanwilliam Institute to provide counselling for families
Who is this service for: All members of the Traveller community who are over the age of 18 years; the exception to this rule will be where a family come together for counselling and have children with them who are under 18 years. Members of the settled community who are in relationships with members of the Traveller community are also entitled to use this service.
Counselling will be available to people who have problems with alcohol and drugs but the service will only see clients who have gone through a detox program and are not actively engaging in substance misuse. People will be seen who are on a maintenance programme or are on prescribed medication.
Counselling is provided free of charge to all who attend the Travelling Counselling Service.
Referrals:
People can refer themselves by simply contacting the service via the number provided and not through an organisation. Alternatively, referrals can be made on behalf of a client by either friends or family or service provider.
